Children’s Ministry
(For 1st through 5th graders)
When You Arrive
Go to our second floor check-in area and one of our leaders will assist you with check-in and finding the right class for your child.
Our desire is to encourage and support parents and their children as they live in harmony with God’s plan as revealed in Scripture. We present the truth of God’s Word to children in an exciting way they can understand, to guide them to personal faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
Sunday school classes begin at 9:15 a.m. on the 2nd floor, and Sunday morning Kid’s Church starts at 10:30 a.m. on the third floor. (See more information below.)
Note: Kid’s Church does not meet on the last Sunday of the month so families can enjoy worship together on “First Family Sundays.”
Sunday Mornings
Sunday School 1st – 5th graders
Sundays at 9:15 a.m. on 2nd floor of the Educational Tower
Each Sunday morning, trained and approved workers provide love, care, and learning experiences appropriate for each age level to guide children to a knowledge of God and His Word. It is in these small groups that boys and girls make lasting friendships and have many of their needs met through their relationships with teachers who know and care about them and their families. Kid’s Church 1st – 5th graders
Sundays at 10:30 am on 3rd Floor Children’s Area (AWANA Room)
Kid’s Church is designed to give boys and girls the tools they need to understand and involve themselves in worship service. After an energizing time of singing and lesson-based games, we feature puppets, object lessons, and loads of fun to “get kids going for God.” Bible-based lessons are directed by dedicated adults who lead the kids by example in worship. (Note: Kid’s Church does not meet on the last Sunday of the month so children can join “First Family Sundays” with parents in our sanctuary.)
Wednesday Nights
AWANA 1st – 5th graders
Wednesdays at 6:00 pm on 2nd and 3rd floors of the Education Tower
AWANA is a Bible club for kids that divides the meeting time into three categories: Bible stories, Bible memory, and games. It is a great tool for parents to use in helping their children study the Bible and memorize verses that will stay with them for a lifetime. AWANA is held from September to May; in the summer months, we have FUNdamentals activities. For more info contact our Children’s Ministry office at 479-788-6162
First Kids Praise Team (children’s choir)
First Kids Praise is committed to sharing Christ’s love and helping our children worship the Lord through music. Our rehearsals are packed with high-energy and age-appropriate music as well as other games and activities that teach our kids about the love of God.
First Kids Praise is for 1st grade through 5th grade. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. in Rm 241 during the rehearsal season. First Kids Praise Team sings in church several times throughout the year.
Summer Activities
Our Children’s Ministry offers a variety of activities. Here are several from recent years:
- Camp Little Day Camp for kids who have completed 1st & 2nd grade.
- Pinecrest Camp for kids who have completed 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade.
- Vacation Bible School (traditionally in early June) is a 5 day adventure involving Bible Stories, games, missions, crafts, and music centered around enabling kids to respond to the Gospel Message of Christ. (9:00 a.m. to noon).
- Impact WKND (late July) is a day camp like experience that takes children to local fun venues and provides numerous opportunities to hear and respond to the Gospel.
